FLASH NEWS
IWTMA is founder member of GWEC, Brussels. Under this banner IWTMA conducts a biennial and international event and exhibition and conference to bring all stakeholders under one roof over a three day event. Two successful events are completed and next one is planned in 2014. This perhaps is the largest event and series of conference deliberation and transacting business and more importantly creating awareness to the public on the importance of wind energy to achieve energy security. IWTMA has been participating in fairs in Europe – Husum, EWEA in Brussels and AWEA in United States.
Global Wind Day is celebrated every year across the globe on June 15th. IWTMA has promoted a number of events involving the school children, concerts with wind instruments, creating the message of wind energy and have a brand called Vaayu Vandhanam. Times of India have co-partnered with IWTMA in this venture in 2012.
A number of IWTMA members as per their corporate policy have undertaken many activities of Corporate Social Responsibility to address the have-nots. It is a matter of pride that the wind energy projects are in the rural sector, providing infrastructure developments like roads, schools, colleges, hotels, eateries, small business, contract and services.
It will not be a statement of exaggeration that the source of wind energy is truly a “Power Forever”.
Wind Power India 2012 concluded on 30 November as a huge success for the Indian wind power industry.
