Wind energy share is 63% of the total renewable energy capacity of 42752 MW and 8.86% in total energy installation of 302 GW as on 31st March 2016.

Mr. Sarvesh Kumar is the Deputy Managing Director of RRB Energy Limited. Besides being post graduate in Commerce, he holds a Masters degree in Business Management. He is also a Life Fellow of All India Management Association. He is acknowledged as one of the experts in the field of Wind Energy and has been part of various Committees of FICCI, ASSOCHAM etc. He was the Chairman of the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers’ Association (IWTMA) from the year 2000 to 2005 and has represented IWTMA in various International Fora. Recently he has been again elected as Chairman, IWTMA for the period of 2 years from February 2016 to February 2018.
He is associated with the Wind Energy from the time when Wind Energy was not acceptable as a commercial proposition. The result of his strong commitment and vision are visible today. The Company with which he associated himself as an employee has elevated him to a senior position on the Board of Directors. He has been instrumental in taking the Company to new heights. The sector which had difficulty in being financed by Commercial Banks is now a proven sector being readily financed by Commercial Banks and other Financial Institutions. During his present ongoing tenure as Deputy Managing Director of the Company he successfully concluded an investment of about US$ 55 Million by a foreign investor in the Company, which has contributed to the substantial growth of the Company. He has been instrumental in strengthening and professionalizing the operations of the Company with Corporate Governance measures. The efforts made by him have helped in obtaining recognition for the R&D facility of the Company from the Government of India and in developing a higher capacity Wind Electric Generator of 1.8 MW. The pains taken by him in arranging development of 1.8 MW through in-house R&D efforts is really laudable as the said higher capacity has also been certified by GL, Germany and also accepted by Centre for Wind Energy Technology (C-WET), an autonomous institution under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India. He has also been instrumental in taking up with the Government of India through IWTMA the restoration of fiscal and financial benefits for the Wind Energy Sector.
