Merger of Gamesa and Siemens's Wind Power Business

Gamesa and Siemens have signed binding agreements for the merger of Siemens's wind power business with Gamesa. This merger will give rise to a leading global wind player, with aggregate worldwide installed capacity of 69 GW, an order book worth €20 billion and revenue of €9.3 billion. The two companies' businesses are highly complementary in terms of both, geographic presence and product/technology portfolios. The merged entity will have an industrial presence and reach across all five continents.

The resulting company will continue to be headquartered and listed in Spain. The onshore business will be based in Spain, while the offshore business will be headquartered in Germany and Denmark. After the transaction closes, Siemens will hold 59 percent of the share capital while Gamesa’s existing shareholders will hold 41 percent.

The Indian market is one of the key assets of Gamesa and will continue to remain so under the new merged company. This merger will strengthen Gamesa in India both financially & technologically and enable us to deliver the best value & prosperity to our partners.
