India Globally in 4th Place Overtaking Spain

As on 31st December 2014, India was at the 5th place in wind power in the world with 22464 MW of installations and Spain was at the 4th place with 22987 MW of wind installations.

From January to June 2015, India has installed 1279 MW additional wind capacity while Spain has not added any capacity during this period as per GWEC report (Gist Given below).

Zero wind power megawatts installed in Spain in the first half of 2015

Madrid, 27th July 2015. The worst predictions have come true: Spain does not attract investment in new wind power capacity. In the first half of 2015, not a single megawatt has been installed in the country, leaving the total at 22,986 MW. This makes it harder to comply with the draft of the Government´s Energy Plan, which expects about 5,000 MW and 7 billion euro investment to meet European targets for 2020, which are binding.

Hence with 23763 MW of total wind installations India stands at 4th place overtaking Spain with 22987 MW of installations.
